Some days I am just low on confidence, self-esteem and I am just not feeling that uplifting energy that I am used to having. 98% of the time for me personally, NingXia will take care of the uplifting part, but some days I am just not feeling it. How do I get that positive mindset so crucial to life?
I can tell you what I DON’T do. I DON’T:
Sit in misery
Replay whatever is upsetting me over and over in my head
Keep talking about it
Do nothing about it
I know it sounds like, ‘well that’s great for you, but I can’t help it’. Well, I wanted to share a few tricks that I use to get me through those moments. Let’s face it, were human, we ALL have those moments. We all linger in a thought or feeling that we shouldn’t be lingering in too long. We all talk about what made us mad a lot longer than we should. A lot of times we tend to wallow in whatever misery we are in.
I’m not talking we all do it for days, but we as humans, tend to linger in that negative feeling a bit longer than we should be. So, I listed what I DON’T do, but what DO I do about it?
Here is what I DO to embrace a positive mindset:
Give myself a time limit
Slap my favorite uplifting oil on, diffuse it and embrace it
Change my thought pattern
What the heck right? I know. It’s taken a lot of time for me to develop healthy habits and I am still a work in progress. I am by NO means perfect. Trust me, ask my husband HA! The first important thing is to set a realistic time limit. What does that mean? Well, if someone made you upset, it’s okay to feel upset, but don’t let it drag on for days. Be upset, but limit that negative feeling to an hour or two. DON’T stay stuck in the feeling all day, or for days. That will do nothing productive for you!
I pick some oils that are calling out to me and apply them, diffuse them and embrace them into my being. Many times they will help to uplift the feeling I was going through. It isn’t always right away, sometimes it can take quite a few applications or diffusing sessions before I notice a difference. I pray and meditate bringing that emotion and feeling to the cross. Ultimately, these burdens are not mine to bear, they are His and I am so thankful for what He did for me on the cross. Nothing in my life will ever compare to what He went through for His love for me. Bringing my burdens to Him, always provides a sense of relief.
Lastly, I change my thought pattern.
If I got into a fender bender at Starbucks while I was stopped and the person backed up into my car (yes that really happened), instead I will change my thoughts from ‘HOW DID SHE NOT SEE ME I AM IN A VAN’ to ‘This is inconvenient but everyone is okay and God may be protecting me from something worse’. Changing your thoughts from a negative mindset, or a glass half empty mindset, to a positive mindset, or glass half full mindset is crucial to not only happiness, but confidence and feeling that uplifting mood.
You can do it.
Here are some of my personal favorite uplifting oils when my mood just isn’t feeling all that great and I need a positive mindset:
Peace and Calming 1&2
Build Your Dreams
Trauma Life – depending on the situation
